Itinerary
DAY ONE
A morning flight from La Paz to Rurrenabaque, the gateway to the Madidi National Park. Transfer to the riverside and hop about your motorised dugout canoe to travel up river into the jungle. Spot wildlife from the boat, on foot and while at your jungle camp. Sleep in the Amazon on raised platforms.
DAY TWO
A full day to explore the jungle, trekking through the forest and learning about its mysteries from your local guide. Afternoon sunset experience of the macaws and parrots returning to their nests at a nearby clay cliff. Sleep in the jungle.
DAY THREE
Depart early by canoe for the town and transfer onto 4x4s to travel into the Pampas region of the area, a flooded forest with highlights such as Amazon alligator spottings and the rare pink river dolphins. Sleep at a tented camp on the shores of the Yucumo river
DAY FOUR
Travel out onto river to spot wildlife from your boat – monkeys, pink dolphins, capybara and endless birdlife. The elusive jaguar may also rear its head. Return to the camp mid afternoon and drive back to Rurrenabaque. Night in the jungle town
DAY FIVE
Morning transfer to the airport for your return flight to La Paz. Transfer to your hotel in La Paz and relax.
