Itinerary

DAY ONE

Depart La Paz early morning for Huayna Potosi basecamp. With technical equipment in tow, we make our way to the base of the glacier to learn essential skills on the ice for the following day’s summit attempt. Continue trekking to high camp a 5,250m.

DAY TWO

An early start (2am) towards the summit of the Huayna Potosi mountain (6,088m). From the peak we will be able to enjoy views of the altiplano, La Paz, the valleys entering into the jungle, Lake Titicaca and the entire Cordillera Real. We will then start our descent back to base camp and onward to Laguna Zongo, where our vehicle will be waiting for us to return to La Paz.

DAY THREE

Meeting with our biking team at the hotel, we depart by vehicle to La Cumbre at 4,600m. This is the start of our biking route, where we spend the entire day on a downhill adventure on a combination of tarmac and dirt roads, all the way to the jungle at 1,200m. This is not technical biking but good confidence on a bike is important. Arriving at the end of the route, we transfer to the cloud forest town of Coroico. Afternoon and evening to relax by the pool and in hammocks.

DAY FOUR

A day to relax in the hotel, or perhaps a chance to trek to a nearby waterfall or visit a local coffee or coca plantation. Afternoon return to La Paz.
