Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake
Start early from Cusco, driving to Mollepata for breakfast before heading to the trek’s starting point. Hike through scenic valleys to Soraypampa (3,900m), stopping for a side trip to the stunning Humantay Lake. Overnight in a campsite beneath the towering Salkantay Mountain.

Day 2: Soraypampa – Salkantay Pass – Chaullay
The most challenging day begins with a steep ascent to Salkantay Pass (4,630m), the trek’s highest point. Take in breathtaking views before descending into the lush cloud forest. Hike through dramatic landscapes before reaching Chaullay (2,900m) for the night.

Day 3: Chaullay – La Playa – Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes
Trek through tropical valleys, passing waterfalls and coffee plantations. Reach La Playa, then transfer to Hidroelectrica for a scenic train journey to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town), where you’ll rest before the final ascent.

Day 4: Machu Picchu – Cusco
Rise early for a sunrise visit to Machu Picchu. Explore the iconic ruins with a guided tour before hiking Huayna Picchu (optional). Return to Aguas Calientes, take the train to Ollantaytambo, and then transfer back to Cusco, completing the unforgettable journey.
